Professional Vocal Training Academy
Every voice is different. Your training should be too.
About The Voice Loft
The Voice Loft is a structured vocal training academy based in Wath-upon-Dearne, South Yorkshire. Every student follows a defined progression pathway — from their very first breath exercise to advanced vocal performance. Every lesson has a purpose. Every exercise builds on the last. Nothing is left to chance.
At The Voice Loft, the goal is progress — not perfection. We meet every student exactly where they are, develop them at the right pace for their voice, and celebrate genuine improvement at every stage. A student who leaves a lesson having truly mastered one thing has had a great lesson.
Students choose The Voice Loft because it offers something most vocal teachers cannot: a systematic approach with clear milestones, measurable outcomes, and real results.
Technical foundations must be secure before creative expression is developed.
Every voice is a developing instrument. Every decision prioritises its protection.
We meet every student where they are. Real improvement at every stage is the goal — not a flawless performance.
Warmth and rigour are not opposites. Both exist in every Voice Loft session.
"Every singer who wants to develop can become a confident, technically capable performer — provided they are taught in the right way, at the right pace, and in a safe and supportive environment. That is what The Voice Loft exists to do."
— Danielle, Founder & Lead Vocal CoachThe Training System
Every Voice Loft student begins at Studio 1. Progression to the next studio is based on genuine readiness — assessed by your teacher, never assumed.
The technical bedrock. Every student starts here, regardless of prior experience. Breathing, posture, vowel placement, pitch accuracy, rhythm, and the first performance confidence. A secure Studio 1 is the foundation everything else is built on.
Building on secure foundations. Register blending, tone quality, range extension, musical expression, articulation, and music theory. Students at this level sound genuinely trained. The voice begins to take on real character and colour.
Elite vocal development. Vibrato, advanced agility, stylistic interpretation, and performance craft. This is not a level every student will reach — it requires genuine readiness, sustained commitment, and significant prior development.
The highest tier of Voice Loft training. Students at this level have demonstrated exceptional technical ability, musical maturity, and commitment to their craft. Membership is by invitation from Danielle only — it cannot be applied for.
Inside Each Studio
Within each studio, every student moves through four colour levels — Yellow, Green, Blue, and Purple. Advancement is based on genuine mastery, assessed by your teacher. Not time. Not effort alone. This protects every student's long-term development and ensures nothing is built on shaky ground.
The Curriculum
Six curriculum areas are assessed at every level. Progress in all six is required before a student advances. Every lesson touches multiple areas — technical work, musical application, and theory all developed simultaneously.
The engine of everything. Breathing, posture, resonance, vowel placement, register control, and range development. Technique is taught first — expression follows when the foundation is secure.
Matching pitch reliably, holding notes through their full duration, navigating intervals cleanly, and developing the ear to self-correct. Built from single notes to complex melodic lines over time.
Feeling and counting a beat, fitting words to musical phrases, navigating time signatures, and developing rhythmic independence so the body carries the time while the voice carries the melody.
Dynamics, tone colour, phrasing, and stylistic awareness. This is where technique meets artistry. Only introduced when technical foundations are secure — rushed expression on weak technique produces nothing of value.
Embedded into every lesson — never a separate subject. Note names, time signatures, scales, key signatures, intervals, and ABRSM-aligned theory building from Grade 1 through Grade 5 across the three studios.
Stage presence, eye contact, stillness, breath in performance, managing nerves, connecting to the audience, and building the genuine confidence that only comes from repeated, well-prepared experience.
Focused Workshops
Spotlight Sessions are 90-minute focused workshops, each targeting a specific skill area in a concentrated, high-energy format. They are open to anyone — you do not need to hold a regular lesson slot at The Voice Loft to attend. Students and regular lesson attendees alike can book a Spotlight Session at any time.
A deep-dive into diaphragmatic breathing — the single most important skill in singing. Students learn how to locate, engage and control the diaphragm, and why correct breathing changes everything about how the voice sounds and feels.
Ear training and pitch matching in a focused workshop setting. Interval recognition, sustained pitch exercises, and practical strategies for self-correcting when the voice drifts — skills that accelerate progress in every subsequent lesson.
For singers who hold back in performance — or who want to go further faster. Covers breath management under pressure, how to prepare a performance mentally, and practical tools for managing nerves before and during performing.
Many singers are afraid of or embarrassed by their head voice. This session demystifies it entirely — you'll discover what head voice is, why it matters, and how to build it from something thin and uncertain into a real, reliable vocal tool.
Singing into a microphone is a skill in its own right. Learn mic technique, proximity and dynamics, how to carry a performance through a PA, and how professional singers use amplification to enhance — not hide — their voice.
What makes a voice compelling to listen to? This session explores vowel placement, nasal versus oral resonance, and how small adjustments in placement produce dramatically different sounds — and how to control them intentionally.
Scales, arpeggios, and melodic runs — the building blocks of vocal agility. Work through the physical technique behind clean runs, breath management within fast passages, and how to integrate agility into real musical contexts.
A workshop for singers who want to explore vibrato — what it is physiologically, how it develops naturally, how to encourage and stabilise it, and how to use it with intention rather than accident.
Music theory brought to life through singing. Work through note reading, time signatures, intervals, and key signatures in a practical, vocal context — making abstract theory concrete and immediately useful in lessons and exam preparation.
How to Join
One-to-one lessons in the Voice Loft studio, following the structured curriculum at your current level. Each lesson follows the same six-part format — Breath Reset, Warm-Up, Technical Work, Applied Work, Song Application, and Cool-Down.
Book a block of lessons in advance and receive a discount on the standard lesson rate. Everything about the teaching, support, and curriculum is identical — block booking is simply a more economical way to commit to your training.
For students working toward ABRSM Music Medals or Practical Grades. Exam preparation is introduced only when a student is genuinely ready — technically and emotionally. Preparation is structured, thorough, and takes place within regular lesson time supplemented by targeted practice.
Home Practice
A student who practises ten minutes a day will progress significantly faster than one who only works in lessons. The Loft Live App makes structured home practice possible — and enjoyable — for every Voice Loft student.
Students log in with their unique student code and complete guided practice sessions tailored to their current studio level and the teacher's weekly focus. Sessions run for 10, 15 or 20 minutes. No downloading. No subscriptions. Completely free for enrolled students.
The app tracks streaks, logs sessions, and displays your teacher's weekly focus topic — keeping home practice connected to lesson work at all times.
Practice sessions tailored to your exact level — not generic exercises.
Daily practice streaks keep you motivated and on track.
Danielle sets a weekly focus topic that appears on the home screen every lesson week.
No social features, no chat, no advertising. A private practice tool — nothing more.
